A sense of community and basic human interaction. We all need it. Do we always get it? No, but WeWork is trying to change that with their new WeLive co-living concept. We’ve always heard that the kitchen is the heart of the home, so why not share it?
Community is at the heart of WeLive, where studios to 4-bedroom apartments can be rented in a dormity-esque atmosphere. But, don’t let that deter you- these are surely not the dingy dorms you of college years past. The apartments come outfitted with all the necessities, and luxuries, that you could ask for: HDTVs, wireless speakers, towels, linens, roof decks, hot tubs, refreshments, and so much more. The WeLive app fosters community engagement by offering residents a chance to connect through happy hours, game nights, Sunday dinners, fitness classes, and cooking classes, among other things.
Co-living is attracting not only the young, but the old as well- from those adapting to a new city, those looking to be closer to the work place during the week, those whose hectic work schedule doesn’t allow for much socializing, and even to empty nesters who miss the liveliness of a full house. The co-living concept is extremely important for those in the housing industry to stay informed and updated on in order to adapt to future changes in the market.
